MAKING THE WINE, VINEYARD TO BOTTLE
THE SCIENCE AND ARTISTRY OF WINEMAKING
The process of making wine can be called a science and an art. Each grape, and each style of wine, has slightly different variations of the process to accomplish this: plant grow, pick, crush, press, ferment, age, bottle. Each step has risk, which benefit from science, practice, and some "artistry." However, this is a very specialized form of agriculture; we are dependent on soil, sun, rain, and various creatures. The European proverb is that 80% of the wine quality is found in the vineyard itself. We have attempted to integrate these wine making traditions to bring everything from simple, approachable wines to award winning wines in our tasting room.
