Family friendly at Spring gate - the vineyard
Under 21 - you need your parents or legal guardian
The below discussion of family friendly implies a normal policy throughout Pennsylvania - If you are under 21 you need to be with your parents or legal guardian - always.
Slightly misquoting Ecclesiastes (or the Byrds if you want).... the Spring Gate desire is to be welcoming and friendly to all of our guests including ones that are minors that come with their parents. Guesthood; however, is a two way street, there is some guest responsibility to the host and to the other guests as well. In order to balance out those aspects we have some simple rules for 2016 with respect to the kids.
Our meadow is the place where we want to see balls, batting, and throwing things, as well as tag, running and other things under the supervision of the parents. In fact there is a bit of a running course down there between the copses of willows. At 6:30; however, we want those high energy games ended and have the kids sitting with their parents, essentially within arms length. Food, drinks, bathrooms, etc. should also be with the parent within arms length as well. Under no circumstances are drones allowed to be flown at SpringGate by children or adults.
For the rest of the property the children should always be accompanied by their parents within arms length from opening to closing. Playing with the games that we provide, from board games to corn hole is highly encouraged. Throughout the property respectful volumes of voice and noise for the guests and especially the live music are requested. No electronic music or noise should be broadcast, headphones are required always and everywhere. The riding of bikes, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled vehicles by children or adults is prohibited except for arriving from the public highway and the use of the public bike rack.
While some of these rules may seem hard, some of them are actually required by law. We will enforce them for the greater benefit, and we hope you can understand our clarification for this season as we have grown dramatically. Plan Your Visit with us today!
Lastly, while this is a family friendly place, this is also an adult friendly place where things are celebrated from time to time (but especially on Saturdays) including Bachelorette Parties, which at times can be PG-13 thematically.

LOCAL implications |
We are committed to local craft. So non-alcoholic drinks are currently water, and local bottled sodas from Appalachian Brewery and come a cooler Fall a local roasted coffee. If we find other local craft and packaged drinks, we'll consider them certainly, but we're not going to carry national brands.

no non-alcohol slushies
|
We are a winery and brewery, and we serve thousands of Wine Slushy's under license. We don't want a single error with anyone at anytime about what is being served here. There are plenty of other places that do a great job making slushies like Sheetz - we think they are awesome.

No Pets |
Sorry. Our long standing policy at SpringGate is no pets. Too many people, the occasional farm animal and other things drove this decision.

SPRING GATE INTHEVILLAGE (Linglestown) - currently closed to under 21
Spring Gate InTheVillage in Linglestown is closed until further notice.
While the Vineyard is designed to be family friendly, the village's more pub-like environment is not. Our requirements there are you need to be 21 and over. InTheVillage we are focused on different music genres, with much more urban music, and as such we do not believe that any minors should be present to ensure no offense.
Some events are announced to be family friendly, such as certain ticketed events. They are the exception.
